Cairistine

Cairistine is widely known as Rhiannon's consort and conscience. While she wasn't one of the original ten, she did join with her Dusana during the first Queen's reign. She is the only Cairn to have joined with a Dusana beyond puberty: she was 20 years old.
Her levelheaded, protective prowess has kept Rhiannon from destroying the Cairn race and spiritual culture in it's infancy.
She is largely silent, barely speaking unless spoken to. Cairistine is a skilled metal worker, and one of the only Cairns to use armor. She is an able warrior, although she is surpassed by Rhiannon's skill, something that is not public knowledge. She officially acts as the Queen's body guard, and helps to train new Cairns in their perspective roles when called upon.
Cairistine has been tied to Rhiannon almost since the day of her joining, and is deeply in love with the Queen. Her loyalty is absolute, although she is not blind to Rhiannon's flaws and consistently works to temper them.
Unfortunately, she has never been outwardly treated well by the Queen. She is frequently kept in the dark when Rhiannon chooses less desirable paths, and she faces consistent derision from the Queen's persona. She must also contend with Rhiannon's other romantic conquests. Jealousy is a strong trait in Cairistine, although she tries hard not to be vengeful or spiteful.
Despite the challenges she faces, she is recognized as the other half of Rhiannon's rule and is widely acknowledged as Rhiannon's Consort, even outside of the Cairn Camps. Other species who have had to interact with the Cairn Queen are deeply grateful for Cairistine's steady involvement.
She agreed to take responsibility for Adrianne Natalie as Rhiannon's counterpart. While she keeps her position on the subject under wraps, the effects of Adrianne's loss do begin to show in small ways.
Aside from her natural ability to join with a Dusana, Cairistine has no other noted powers. However, she is quite secretive. Not much is known about her by her people.
