Adrianne Natalie is not human. She is a Cairn, which makes her capable of joining with a Dušana, or Spirit Bird, when one chooses her to be its host. Her spirit is that of a hawk. It is silver and solid when joined with Adrianne, but without her it is a phantom that collapses to dust, returning to it's afterlife in Dracadre. Adrianne has a habit of pushing her limits and has managed to fuel the Dušana, keeping its phantom form intact outside of her body, even allowing it enough energy to solidify while sapping her own life energy.
Unrelated to her Cairn heritage, Adrianne also appears to be capable of manipulating the element of water on a small scale. Her other, mage driven abilities are largely offensive and focused by willpower and the ring Nyx. Adrianne is particularly adept with her raw powers, learning early on to mold and control her energy for use as a weapon. While her power tends to be more aggressive, her shields are also very strong. Physically, she has incredible reflexes and surprising endurance.

Adrianne's history tends to inspire a tendency towards violence. The 11-year-old girl gives off an uncaring and unreachable vibe, making her perfectly capable of disappearing in a crowd, or of making her presence intimidating. There was a time when she and Carrie McCarthy and Melinda Poltsky were best friends, but circumstances weren't kind and drove them apart. Now, they're enemies and Adrianne's angry attitude keeps Carrie and her crew on their toes. Still, Adrianne's anger comes with a deep vein of possessive; protective tendencies and an almost obsessive dedication to the few friends she chooses--one of which includes her german shephard dog. Her life is school. Even her friends can't infiltrate the nightmare she survives in outside of J. Bryant Junior High.
Will Adrianne's experiences send her over the edge and allow her anger and grief to consume her, or will Nyx and the responsibility it brings teach her how to evolve and cope for herself as well as others?
